post-Daytona wrap-up

After things were looking really good, with the 6 car in the lead and Oz in the 60 working his way up to the front, things didn't turn out as hoped-for in the 24. A shock gone bad made for some problems with flat-spotting on the 60 car, and an alternator belt put the 6 car behind the wall for several laps. But despite being way down the order in the middle of the night, the team rallied to finish with both cars, and the 60 even took ninth place on the very last lap as Patterson crossed the finish line, even though the engine cover was gone thanks to a big hit from behind late in the race. Even though the team had been hoping to go one better than the 2006 second-place finish, there were a lot of cars that didn't make it to the end, so now its off to Mexico and the start of the sprint-race season...
